Fake Fiancée by Ilsa Madden-Mills

Fake Fiancée by Ilsa Madden-Mills

They say nothing compares to your first kiss,
But our first kiss was orchestrated for an audience.
Our second kiss…that one was REAL.
He cradled my face like he was terrified he’d f*ck it up.
He stared into my eyes until the air buzzed.
Soft and slow, full of sighs and little laughs,
He inhaled me like I was the finest Belgian chocolate,
And he'd never get another piece.
A nip of his teeth, his hand at my waist...
And I was lost.
I forgot he was paying me to be his fake fiancée.
I forgot we weren’t REAL.
Our kiss was pure magic, and before you laugh and say those kinds of kisses don’t exist…
Then you’ve never touched lips with Max Kent, the hottest quarterback in college history.

Get ready for breathtaking kisses, dreamy football players, a heroine who yearns for the guy she can't have, and a hero who will do anything for the girl he loves...

I absolutely tore through this book!

The dialogue was spot on, Max and Sunny were perfect together and the story just flowed.  I don’t think the book makes a secret of the fact that Max and Sunny have met before, it just makes you question when they’re going to realize it for themselves. It didn’t play out the way I expected it to.

Sunny was just a fun character to read. I really enjoyed her outlook on life, the way she took care of her grandmother, her quirky artistic creativity and how she interacted with her best friend Isabella. She’s the girl everyone likes but no one really knows. Except for Max. She lets Max get to know her and in typical guy mode he fucks that up by not thinking through the consequences of his actions.

Initially, I thought Max was a typical jock. Most talented. Best looking. Women throwing themselves at him constantly, so of course he indulges. Envied…. You get it. I admit it. I was wrong… This is his year! He’s up for the Heisman. He’s ready to buckle down and get serious. So to him it just makes sense that a fake girlfriend takes care of a myriad of issues. With a girl on his arm he can fend of the crazy football groupies, send a clear message to his ex that he’s moved on and as a bonus it looks fantastic for those who will be voting on the Heisman. He just didn’t expect Sunny…

It was interesting to see how these two navigated their fake relationship. Their relationship developed so seamlessly that I really expected them to have an easier time of it. But I underestimated how far Max was willing to go to win and how much Sunny was willing to forgive.

Max and Sunny were full of surprises but I don’t think you’ll be surprised with how much you’ll fall in love with them both.
