Crush (The Tainted Love Duet #2) by Kim Karr

Logan McPherson and Elle Sterling continue to thrill in this powerful conclusion to their tantalizing, provocative, and unexpected sizzling romance that began in Blow.

The danger isn’t over.
It’s only just begun.

Circumstances brought them together and their undeniable connection won’t let them part. But when the past and the present collide, emotions run high—things are said, lines are crossed, and rules are broken. Both focused on crushing the enemy, the retribution is almost too much to bear. Still, there’s no undoing what has already been done, and every action has a consequence.

He loves her and she loves him, but love isn’t a shield.

Sometimes your only choice is the one you’d rather not make. Pushed to the limit, the tainted love of Logan and Elle is in jeopardy. With outside forces driving a wedge between them, they have to dig deep within their souls to release the ghosts of their pasts, and fight even harder for what neither knew they needed—each other.

Can love really conquer all?

Okay, finally we get to the follow up book to Blow.

Blow was crammed with tension and intrigue and danger and lots and lots of lusty sex so I was really anxious to get into this one and find out who did what, who fucked over who and how they were going to find their way through the mess that was dealing with the Irish Mob.  I thought Patrick was a problem…and he certainly has his moments, but, he has nothing on The Priest.

As a rule, I think most follow up books don’t live up to the rush of the first, but this one came very, very close. The action was just as fast paced, Patrick and Tommy were just as fucked up and Logan was still hiding a ton of shit from Elle.  I am happy to say that some of the twisted theories I had floating around my brain never came to pass...but, believe me… that’s a good thing. I did figure out who The Priest was early in the story but that did not take away from the action. And although Michael was a shady little fucker, in the end he did the only thing he could to ensure that Elle would remain safe when she oh, so eloquently told him where he could stick his offer.

As for Elle and Logan…they were just as intense, sexy and devoted to each other as they were at the end of Blow. Logan has called in the reinforcements to help him keep Elle safe. But it’s hard to keep someone safe who insists on doing things that put them in the path of danger. I know Elle has good reasons for her actions, to keep her niece safe and in her life, but she was so stubborn about it. That is probably my only criticism of the book. Elle would not stay away from the danger.

This is a great duet of books that will keep you on your toes from beginning to end. Even the secondary characters, from Declan to Peyton to Miles and even to Killian, were fascinating. Their stories are just as rich as Logan and Elle’s and add multiple layers to the action.

Crush is a thrilling conclusion to a nail biting story.
