SKIN (A 44 Chapters Novel #1) by B.B. Easton
“Knight was a skinhead. Correction, Knight was THE skinhead.”
-BB Easton, 44 Chapters About 4 Men
Based on (mostly) true events, SKIN is the story of Knight and BB. It is the story of how a good girl, from a good home, with good intentions and even better grades, managed to get herself mixed up in every bad thing imaginable. It is about love and loss and learning that in this life, looks can be deceiving.
*To fully enjoy this book it is recommended that readers first experience 44 CHAPTERS ABOUT 4 MEN; however, SKIN can be read as a stand-alone.
**SKIN is not intended for everyone. It contains themes that might upset or offend sensitive audiences. Please consult the introduction for a list of triggers.
***Now I'm just adding asterisks to be an asshole.
****Not to deter you from Book 1, but my heart seriously went out for this book and to Knight. This quite possibly may be one of my favorite books ever. Not glorifying or glory holing. Just saying I was blown away.
*****The intensity of Knight and BB vibrated off the pages in this book. I could feel the pain. The fear. The emotions.
******BB's style of writing and story telling is humorous and entertaining She takes serious real life teenage issues and somehow makes it amusing while still being serious. It's that damn psychology major. This book brought me back to my high school days, my high school friends, and my high school boyfriends. What a walk down memory lane. It's real. It's shocking. It's engaging.
*******BB was worried Knight's tale was too long and drawn out. My response? There is no way to be disengaged. Knight and BB keeps you gripped in their story 213% of the time.
********Knight broke my heart, broke my mind, broke my soul, broke me. But yet, put it all back together again. And when you get to the Ronald meeting Knight scene... it took my breath away, I hope it does yours too (I mean, not to suffocation point or anything). And Lance meeting Lance. Two of the best scenes ever written. This book is ridiculously fucking good. My top read of 2017. Given we are only a month in... so it may be one of my top reads ever.
*********I totally win on the asterisk use. (She wins on the book writing.)
