Free Fall by Emily Goodwin

I’ll never forget the first time I saw Nora Fisher. The way my heart sped up in my chest and blood rushed through every part of me. I was drawn to her the moment our eyes met.

She was beautiful.

Guarded.
Damaged.
Just like me.

I never meant to hurt the only woman I’ve ever loved. She was light, and I was dark, casting shadows on everything around me. Letting her go meant spiraling back into the darkness only Nora could pull me from. But I’d sacrifice myself a thousand times for her.

Four years later, she’s back, and the passion she ignites makes the fight for her stronger. But the more I try to make things right, the more I realize how complicated things have become.

And now I'm starting to see that maybe her light was never meant to be mine.

I've been reading Goodwin for quite some time and I will admit, this is her best work to date.  Amazing.  Beautiful.  Emotional.

Sucked out all my air.  So, so, heavy at times, but handled with grace and style.  And at times the book veered places and directions I didn't want it to.  I frantically tried grabbing the steering wheel to redirect my way, but alas, the story unfolded and needed to go left instead of right.  But then ended up right, right?

While a solid portion of this book is the characters in their teens and tasting first love, this is certainly not a YA book with topics and scenes.

This is a slow simmer.  Crockpot story cooked to perfection.
