Say You'll Stay by Corinne Michaels

One word.
Stay.

It was all he had to do. Instead, he got on that bus and took my heart with him.

That was seventeen years ago.

I moved on. Marriage. Kids. White picket fence. Everything I ever wanted, but my husband betrayed me and I was left once again.

Alone, penniless, and with two boys, I had no choice but to return to Tennessee. He wasn’t supposed to be there. I should’ve been safe. However, fate has a way of stepping in.

This time around, the tables are turned. It’s my decision. Second chances do exist, but I don’t know if we can repair what’s already been broken . . .

Pet’s $0.02

This is a sweet second chance love story. It was emotional. It had ups and downs galore and I teared up quite a few times. And, it will have you rooting for Presley and Zachary to reconcile, regardless of how they’ve found themselves thrown back together.

It starts out brutally and with an event incredibly hard to come back from to even get close to where you’d want to start something new with someone. Unless, you never really stopped loving the one you lost before. If the feelings never ended, is it truly a second chance?

I liked Presley. She was written in a way that came across as real. She had the same questions, doubts, anger and fears that you would expect would come from anyone who went through what she did. I even get why she acted the way she did when she and Zachary split when she was eighteen. It made sense. And even though it seemed like something that should have been easy to overcome, I just have to look at my kids (who are around that age) and totally get why things played out the way they did…. Kids make stupid decisions… and are never willing to admit they made the wrong choice.

Zachary pissed me off at first. I admit, I wanted he and Presley to pick right back up where they left off. I knew it wasn’t that easy and expecting him to not have moved on was kind of silly. Even so, his running hot and cold was enough to test anyone’s patience and his behavior with his current/ex girlfriend, Felicia, had me calling him lots of names. I don’t care how “caring” and helpful he is to all the residents of Bell Buckle, there are some things that just aren’t done. But, Presley handled it well.

This has a heartbreaking beginning, but I think you’ll be happy with where it ends.
