Beauty: Learning to Live (Devil's Blaze MC #6) by Jordan Marie

This isn't your everyday Beauty and the Beast story.
Our love story was tragic, until it wasn't....

Once upon a time I fell in love with a beast.

I fell fast.

I fell hard.

I loved him intensely and I trusted him completely - until he ripped my heart to shreds.

Love isn't a fairy tale.

It's messy.

It's dirty.

It's painful, and it's ugly.

Until it's not....

What a perfect book to read on Father’s Day.

This is the follow up book to Beast and if you fell as hard for Beast as I did, you know you were counting down the days until this one came out.

Beast (Michael) and Beauty (Hayden) are two people that life has just royally fucked over. Yes, the brothers of the Devil’s Blaze MC still think of Michael as one of theirs but they don’t think past that. They don’t see what the MC has cost him or that their everyday lives just reopen those wounds every single day. And Hayden, she never did anything to bring on the pain she’s endured. There’s just something about her that seems to have pissed Life off. To me, Michael is her prize for living through Hell which makes it worse when he drives her away by being a hateful dick.

Fortunately, once Michael got his head out of his ass and decided to after Hayden he does a great job of convincing her he’s never going to be that kind of a douche again. The way he treated Hayden after that definitely made up for his previous behavior and made me love him a little more for it. I also have to give it to Hayden for not spending her time trying to make Michael suffer for what he clearly sees as a bad decision. We all need to pay attention, because we can learn a few things from these two about wasting the time we have with those we love.

And Devil… I have to mention Devil. I love that man. He’s brash, arrogant and loves the ladies. But I do need to know what’s going on between him and D.D. because there is definitely a story there. And for some reason, I think his story has to be tragic.

Now, I know there was a lot of complaining about Beast being a cliffhanger and extending to a second book in Beauty. I feel like it had to be done. Hayden deserved her own story, because after Michael drove her away she had to find a new balance and way to exist without him. She had to learn she was strong and could make it on her own. She never had that before. And Michael had to learn that Hayden is not the one he should be angry at. He had to want to live again and figure out that Hayden was who he wanted to live that life with.

I was definitely not disappointed with Beauty. And I am thrilled that Jordan Marie has brought me more from a couple that I’m going to obsess about for quite a while. I have a feeling I’ll be re-reading this duet of books in the near future.
