#FinishLine (GearShark #5) by Cambria Hebert
Every race has a finish line.
Where you go after you cross it is what matters most.
And sometimes, that’s the most intriguing.
Here at GearShark, we’ve featured lots of drivers.
All of them are well acquainted with the finish line.
And as race fans, we’re well acquainted with cheering as they cross it.
What we aren’t privy to is riding shotgun, seeing where they drive once the race is over.
Our interviews barely scratch the surface,
offering just a glimpse of the men and women behind the wheel.
The discovery of vanished Motocross sensation Jayson Hamilton,
who has been right under our noses for years, proves secrets abound.
It’s time to dig deep. Look beyond the racetrack at the drivers who continue to pique our interest. In addition to scoring an exclusive, all-access interview with the elusive Jayson Hamilton (his first and only since the death of his fellow racer and partner Matt Lewis), we’ve caught up with some of our most popular featured men and women in the racing world.
Where are they now?
Who are they now?
What do these hot commodities do when they escape the spotlight?
Rumors of weddings, babies, and new tattoos swirl through the media on a weekly basis.
And though we’re headlining the hashtag #Finishline, we’re far from finished.
In fact, we’re just getting started.
This newest issue of GearShark is jam packed with everything you’ve been dying to know…and it just might be our biggest page-turner yet.
As you know, #Blur was an extremely heavy, emotionally charged book. It was hard at times reading about the struggles of Arrow and Hopper's pasts, but watching these two help each other heal their broken pieces was very moving.
#FinishLine is nothing like #Blur and for that I am grateful. I don't think I could do another round of heavy so quickly. Actually, this book is the exact opposite. It is light, funny, and incredibly sweet.
After Arrow's GearShark article in #Blur, the press and world was introduced to Hopper as Arrow’s boyfriend and NASCAR manager. That small tidbit is what got the press circling and unfortunately, the story breaks that Hopper is former Motocross sensation, Jayson Hamilton.
Just when their relationship has settled and happily moving forward, the vultures begin to circle. They want the full story on Jayson Hamilton and will not stop until they have it. Where Hopper initially ran when Matt died, this time he stands his ground with Arrow by his side.
Not only does Hopper have Arrow, the entire "family" steps up to stand by him. Family is something Hopper and Arrow are not used to, so the show of support from Joey, Lorhaven, and Gamble, is unexpected, but wonderful to witness. This family is fierce, loyal, and will stop at nothing to make sure the others are safe and happy.
With his family's help, Hopper is able to tell his story of the day Matt died and the aftermath. Hearing what Hopper was put through, I can understand why he initially ran away.
Without giving too much away, we get more of Arrow and Hopper, as well as Joey and Lorhaven, along with Trent and Drew. There are also guest appearances from some of Cambria's characters from her Hashtag Series.
To me, #FinishLine the biggest epilogue ever and wraps up the entire GearShark series perfectly.
