Guy Hater by J. Sterling
Frank is the oldest of the Fisher Brothers; quiet, pensive and sexy as hell. He's stuck in a loveless relationship that he doesn't know how to get out of. The night Claudia walks into his bar, his life is forever changed. Frank is torn between following his obligations or his heart. It's not as easy to navigate as one might think.
Will Frank risk losing the one person who brought him back to life or will he go against it all and do what's expected of him?
Frank’s story was so worth the wait. During his college days baseball was Frank’s life until a career ending injury killed his dream. Shelby helped get him off his feet and stuck by his side through all of it. Together since college, they are in a relationship out of convenience and obligation. Frank as unhappy as he is, doesn’t want to hurt the woman who he used to love. A woman who stuck by his side when he was at his darkest and lowest in life. What kind of man would walk away from that?
Frank PISSED me off. Not in that Jack F’n Carter kind of way but man, did he piss me off. I get where he is coming from. I get it. Stuck in a relationship that both parties know is dead but still hanging on and just going through the motions.
Claudia saved Frank. She brought color back into his life, hell, she brought Frank back to life and it took meeting her to wake him up.
Claudia doesn’t trust men, especially after what her father did to her and her mother. When her best Brittney begs her to go to the bar so she could see the sexy bartender, Ryan, she gives in.
The moment Frank and Claudia’s eyes meet is the moment that changes everything for the both of them.
My heart went out to Frank and his struggles. I get where he was coming from and the guilt and the weight of what he was carrying around just broke my heart but at the same time was so beautiful.
Claudia came into Frank’s life at the perfect time, although Frank’s situation was far from perfect, it was what he needed to move forward. Do I agree with how he went about things? Nope, not at all but when someone is meant to be in your life, shit happens the way it is supposed to happen.
J. Sterling’s stories get better and better and I love that her stores are based on some of her life experiences. I could feel her heart ache and pain and I could feel her happiness. That to me, makes her stories so relatable and realistic and so easy to dive into and get lost for a while.
The roller coaster of emotions is everything. Frank will have you go from Guy Hater to No Bad Days while you’re saying Adios Pantalones!
I am loving the Fisher Brother’s and I so look forward to seeing what she has in store for Ryan Fisher.
